Welcome back to school! This term, our pupils arrived to a very big surprise. If you have been near the playgrounds lately, you might have heard some loud engines and seen some giant yellow machines.

After five (long!) years of waiting, work has finally started on our brand-new climbing frames and play equipment! We are so excited to see these changes. We will be posting regular updates here so you can see how the work is going.

Day 1: The Big Machines Arrive

The diggers arrived at school today! It was a very busy start. Their first job was to start pulling up the old, bumpy ground surfaces. They also began taking down the old gazebo in the main playground to make space for the new equipment.

The children had a wonderful time watching the machines from a safe distance. There was lots of waving at the construction crew, and the workers were happy to wave back!

Day 2: Clearing the Space

The diggers have been working very hard again today. By the afternoon, almost all the old floor surfaces were gone.

Our old gazebo has now been completely removed. We loved that gazebo, but it was getting very old and was not quite right for our needs any more. Now that it is gone, we have a clear, open space ready for the new, exciting things to come!

Day 3: All Clear!

It has been another busy day of work, and we have some great news: the main playground is now completely clear!

The team finished their big job of digging up and carrying away all the old concrete. It was a lot of hard work, but the ground is now flat, empty, and ready for the next stage. We are now waiting for the next company to arrive to start building and fixing our brand-new equipment into the ground.

Now that the space is empty, we are starting to get very excited! What do you think our new playground will look like when it is finished?
